Ella Dror Press Day AW 12

Yesterday was the Ella Dror AW12 Press Day which I had been enlisted to curate and art direct the space at the Swarovski lounge, with quite an extremely exciting range of designers that Ella looks after it's a great challenge, for this season we wanted to show a theme of growth for all the designers and to celebrate the 1st aniversary since Ella Dror PR had their initial press day at The St Martins Lane Hotel last Easter.  The space was given an artificial garden and flowral area, with Flamingo's adorning the bar area, cake was served all day and Tea from Pure Fresh Tea was served in a range of hand painted cups, There was even a guest appearance from The Easter Bunny in the form of Aaron Frew from D1 models. It was a delightful day and always a please to work with the wonderful Ella Dror and Ashley Smith.

Here are some images form my brilliant bunny ear photographer Erika Kishiku. More images to follow soon. xxx

Lucas Nascimento AW 12

Design background: "Graduating in 2008 from London College of Fashion, Nascimento has spent the last three seasons showing at Rio Fashion Week." Design signatures: “I like to create silhouettes that are not typical of knitwear, using knit unexpectedly through careful yarn consideration and solid research. I am interested in the geometric and textural aspects of knitwear. My pieces are a take on the classic cocooning, protective knit, but with a twist - either in yarn or structure.” (London Fashion Week.co.uk)

The part to having a studio that I truly love is the sheer creativity that you become emersed in, over the past few weeks I could hear the constant sound of knitting machines hard at work in the studio's above mine, and so it came as quite a surprise when I finally saw the imaculate constructed garments created by Lucas Nascimento for his AW 12 collection, now a BFC NEWGEN designer sponsored by Topshop he had his first exhibition to be shown at Somerset House in the East Wing, Ground Floor. Unfortunately I was working that day and so my spectacular assistants were able to document the event, below are some photo's taken by Erika Kishiku and Emma Fischer.

The clothes look immaculately knitted with graffiti inspired prints and graphics however the most exciting thing of all is the metalic glittery astro turf green knit dresses and jumpers.... I am seriously pushing for one of these in a mans style and shape, after all I do love that shade of green!
