SHOWstudio - LEO - Backstage images

Back in January I worked with director Jez Tozer and stylist Anna Trevelyan to art direct a series of six fashion films for SHOWstudio. The films inspired by the performanaces by aerialist Leo Hedman and with each fashion look draws on one key menswear designer using specially-commissioned pieces from the likes of Mugler, Walter Van Beirondonck, Nasir Mazhar and VoidofCourse.

'Every film depicts a different emotional state or world, brought to life by body artist Isamaya Ffrench The six works are The Lore, The Rapture, The Abyss, The Answer, The Hunger and The Hush; within each the featured emotional moods are carefully matched with the aesthetics of the separate contributing designers to facilitate a sense of unity between all aspects of the work.' - SHOWstudio.com

Here are a special selection of behind the scenes images for each of the films. To view the full films on SHOWstudio go to showstudio.com/project/leo

Kim Howells invited me to go to a party during LFW which photographer Rankin was throwing showcasing some of the best fashion films made during fashion week alongside a selection of his favourite fashion films and music video's of the past few seasons.

Kim Howells film for David Koma SS12 exclusive for V Magazine shot by Bell Soto was to be shown along side films by Zoe Hitchen for Charlie Le Mindu and Joost Vanderbrug for Alex Noble both styled by Anna Trevelyan and music video's by Roy Raz for The Irrepressibles to name but a few.

Mari Sarai \ Naked Exhibition

It was some time ago when I recall a conversation with Anna Trevelyan about a photo shoot where she had posed nude or 'Naked' for the photographer Mari Sarai. A little later on and a video shoot where I was working as Art Director with Mari we stopped for her to take some stills again 'Naked' of the model for a private project. Fast forward a year on and these snapshots that Mari had been taking have fused themselves into a stunning collection of images of the female form, sexuality and with a confidence only to be given by such a photographer as Mari herself. And an extra suprise to me that the image taken on the video shoot we worked on would actually turn out to be the cover of the book.

Just before LFW and on the eve of NYFW's closure we visited Mari's exhibition and UK launch of the book 'Naked' at Blackall Studio's in Shoreditch. A brilliant show and a suprise collection of images. I now need to get my hands on a copy of the book myself.

We went to see the KTZ show yesterday as styled by the brilliant Anna Trevelyan of course we were drawn in to the Mondrian graphics and amasses of over sized Plexiglas accessories, fur pom poms and an array of male models wearing Gimpish balaclava's. All in all completely fun, we loved it!
